Why spend your time and money on face masks at your local spa when you can make one for yourself at home? Because there isn't much, a good face mask can't cure. And guess what, all the ingredients you need for preparation, are secretly hiding in your kitchen.
1. The Honey Mask.
Honey is well known to be good for your health, be it for your overall body or your skin. For this 'Calming' honey mask, all you need to do is start with 2/3 cup of instant oats and heat them in 1/2 cup of hot water for 5 minutes. Meanwhile add half a cored apple into a blender with 2 tablespoons of yoghurt, 2 tablespoons of honey and one egg white. Blend for about 45 seconds and add the oatmeal mixture. Blend for another 20 seconds. Apply the mixture to your face and let it sit for 15 minutes for maximum nourishment.
2. The Banana Mask.
Half of the population goes crazy about bananas while the other half goes Ewww (just saying). You can use a banana as an all-natural, homemade face mask that moisturizes your skin and leaves it looking and feeling softer. Mash up a medium-sized ripe banana into a smooth paste, then gently apply it to your face and neck. Let it sit for 10 to 20 minutes, then rinse it off with cold water. Another popular mask recipe calls for 1/4 cup plain yoghurt, 2 tablespoons honey and 1 medium banana.
3. The Lemon Mask.
Create a facial that exfoliates and moisturizes your skin at the same time with lemon and olive oil. Squeeze a lemon and mix the juice with 59 ml of olive oil in a small bowl. Stir the ingredients together until they're thoroughly mixed before spreading the mixture onto your face. Use your fingertips to apply the mask in parts. To make the exfoliation process more effective, use short, circular motions as you rub the mask into your skin.
4. The SWEET Mask.
Looking for a soft and glowy finish? All you need are 2 tablespoons of sugar and 2 tablespoons of coconut oil. Sugar rubs off dead skin while coconut oil packs it with moisture. Use equal parts of both the ingredients to form an easy scrub, apply it on your face in gentle circular motions, let it sink in for a few minutes and wash it off with warm water.
5. The Milk Mask.
It is time to give yourself a spa-level facial at home with milk and honey. Make a homemade face mask by mixing 1/4 cup powdered milk with enough water to form a thick paste. Add 1 tablespoon of honey to make it more effective. Thoroughly coat your face with the mixture, let it dry completely, then rinse with warm water. Your face will feel fresh and rejuvenated.
